WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO REAL ESTATE?
I love the fact that real estate is always changing and every day offers something different. I initially became involved professionally in real estate as an Attorney who wanted to get into something where I would be able to help people and not work behind a desk all day, every day. I fell in love with the business, helping clients find their dream homes and purchasing my own investment properties is an amazing opportunity! In this business, every day is a new exciting adventure and opportunity.
YOU PROBABLY WEAR A LOT OF DIFFERENT HATS. WHAT ARE THEY?
Yes – I am a Realtor, Attorney, House Flipper, Traveler, Golfer, Tennis Player, Volleyball player, Lacrosse player, Skier, Snowboarder, Texan, and Kansas Jayhawk (Rock Chalk).
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR STRONGEST AREA OF GROWTH?
After the experience of my first flip I learned to look at homes in different ways than I had in the past. No home is ever going to be perfect, but now I walk into a property and I can imagine how beautiful it can be and how easily certain fixes can completely change the appearance of the property. This has really helped relate to and assist clients looking to buy homes. I am able to give them a new perspective on properties that allow them to look and think outside the box.
ANY TIPS FOR FIRST TIME BUYERS OR SELLERS?
Finding your perfect home is never easy and no home is perfect. But, it’s important to always have an open mind as small changes can have a major impact. Make sure you are being realistic for what is available in the area that you want to live in, while also staying within your budget. Cosmetic items can easily be replaced without spending too much and a few small projects can definitely be both a lot of fun and very rewarding.
IF YOU COULD LIVE IN ANY TV HOME, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE?
Does Buckingham Palace count? It’s on TV and living in the center of London would be a dream come true for me. I studied in London during Law school and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
WHAT’S YOUR DREAM VACATION HOUSE?
I would love a home on the beach with a huge balcony and infinity pool overlooking the ocean and cliffs. I’d add a sand volleyball court, a couple of surf boards, wakeboard boat, and a hot tub.
FAVORITE HOUSE THAT YOU’VE SOLD THIS YEAR?
4271 Columbine in Vail Colorado. The views are absolutely breathtaking and location was amazing. The home is floor to ceiling windows located on a hill overlooking the gorgeous rocky mountains. It was snowing during one of our showings and I couldn’t help but feel like I was standing in a snow globe. Definitely one of my favorite homes of all time.
WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO LIVE IN A CASTLE?
Yes, but I would make sure to add an alarm system and every smart home technology out there. You never know who and when someone is going to try to break into your castle, have you seen Game of Thrones?
