Jackie White was bitten with the real estate bug after she purchased her first fixer upper at the age of 23 and sold it for a hefty ROI. Fast forward to today: whether it’s identifying strong investment opportunities through proper financial analysis, mitigating risk with thorough property inspections, educating on financing options available, or successfully negotiating a contract to the optimal terms and conditions for her client, those that work with Jackie are impressed with her ability to, simply put, get the job done. What attracted you to real estate?
I started out in real estate as an investor and became a Realtor a few years afterwards. I had friends and family find success in real estate and I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to grow a business and meet all sorts of people along the way.
You probably wear a lot of different hats. What are they?
Yes- there are many hats! Real estate adviser, home stager, marketing whiz, listener, cat wrangler, sign installer, contract expert, and dispenser of humor!
What has been your strongest area of growth?
I work throughout the Denver metro area, but I truly excel in the mountains. I live in the foothills and really understand how to help clients buy and sell mountain properties. There are so many nuances of transacting real estate in the mountains, but I am able to give practical advise to help mitigate the risk of a transaction falling apart. My clients really value my local market knowledge.
Any tips for first time buyers or sellers?
I always tell buyers there is no 100% perfect home. The best you can shoot for is 80% perfect, 10% you can live with and 10% you can change. Don’t get stuck on finding your “forever home.” Work on finding one that meets your needs for now because your needs will change.
Sellers- declutter, declutter, declutter! Knock out all those projects you have procrastinated on and make the house shine. And don’t hide the plastic dish drain in the oven for showings! (I speak from personal experience on this one!)
If you could live in any TV home, which one would it be?
Honestly, I think the coolest spot on TV is Punky Brewster’s treehouse! As a kid in the 80s, I dreamed of having a treehouse like that one!
What’s your dream vacation house?
Anything that comes with a view and a bartender, and cell signal.
Favorite house that you’ve sold this year?
7875 Swaps Trail in Evergreen. The views from the house are terrific, the home has lots of potential and I was able to get the home under contract for $60,000 under the appraised value! Most importantly, it had a layout that allowed for the buyers’ aging parents to move in with them so they care could for their family. That was the most rewarding part of the transaction!
Would you ever want to live in a castle?
I have visited Neuschwanstein in Bavaria and it’s beautiful. I think I’d take that one! It’s close to skiing….and German beer!
Why should CO homebuyers choose a Your Castle agent?
Your Castle agents are so approachable and honest. We really understand the market trends down to the neighborhood level, and no one tops our knowledge and network when it comes to investing!
